Urban Green Energy (UGE) has set out to innovate the world of street lighting with its wind/solar street lamp.

A component-based approach
Instead of forcing one design to all projects, UGE’s solution is customized to fit each one. Some lamps will be installed in sunny locations while others will be where the wind is more prominent.

Further, different projects require different lighting based on local restrictions and project type; for example, two and four-lane roads require different light types. Recognizing that different looks fit different settings, the colors and design can be altered as well. Using this component-based approach, UGE tailors the product to fit each customer’s needs without charging customization fees.

Plug and Play
In a typical grid powered street lamp installation, much of the expense is in wiring the lamps to the grid. With UGE’s wind/solar street lamp none of this is required. Installation simply requires pouring a concrete foundation, connecting the street lamp, and turning the switch to On. From day one the lamps will be ready to light the ground below.

Low maintenance
UGE has chosen all components to be long lasting and nearly maintenance free including the vertical axis wind turbine, solar panels, and LEDs.

A clean solution
Best of all, UGE’s wind/solar street lamp is powered by 100% renewable energy and ensures there is enough power storage to provide light 365 days a year making the green choice an easy one!

Looks awesome, but if it is off grid, where are the batteries?
